Free Moontricks concert in Lake Country

The only opportunity to see Moontricks in the Okanagan this summer will be in Lake Country – and it will be free to attend.

The duo recently performed at Shambhala, will be at the Kaslo Music Festival on July 31, and are performing at Live! in Lake Country on Aug. 12.

They are known for soulfully blending folk and blues with electronic music.

“This is a band that’s on the upswing,” said Ryan Donn, cultural development coordinator for Lake Country.

“They’re definitely emerging – and that’s what Live! In Lake Country is all about, take emerging acts and give them the next stage.”

Opening for Moontricks will be Kentucky Eileen.

The Aug. 12 show begins at 7 p.m. in Swalwell Park. The park can fit upwards of 4,000 people.

Playing at this week’s Live! in Lake Country show will be the NFA Dance Band on July 29, and next week is Ben Klick on Aug. 5.

Donn said there is a bigger budget for this summer's concert series because of how COVID prevented the shows from happening in 2020 and 2021.
