A Kamloops youth was hit by a City of Kamloops transit bus around 3:15 p.m. after jaywalking on Westsyde Road.
An officer on the scene said the youth jumped out onto the street before he was struck near the intersection of Westsyde Road and McCarthur Drive. The intersection does not have a crosswalk.
According to Sgt. Edward Preto, the Westsyde Secondary school student had surgery at Royal Inland Hospital last night on a broken leg.
