Victim in Kelowna targeted shooting not expected to survive
Kelowna RCMP are investigating after a targeted shooting left the victim in critical condition.
Police say the victim, who is from the Lower Mainland, was taken to Kelowna General Hospital and is not expected to survive his injuries.
According to a Kelowna RCMP media release, the shooting took place at a business in the 1800 block of KLO Road yesterday, Aug. 2, at roughly 10 p.m.
Investigators say the shooting involved people who are well known to police.
"Incidents of this nature are concerning to say the least, it is our belief that this was a targeted incident. The police would like to assure the public that there is a team of dedicated resources assigned to this investigation and want to ensure that the public that the safety of the citizens of Kelowna remains our primary focus," Kelowna RCMP Insp. Beth McAndie said in the release.
Kelowna RCMP are asking anyone that may have dash-cam footage or was a witness to the incident to contact them at 250-762-3300 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers here.
