KELOWNA – An 87-year-old woman had a heart attack while hiking on the Mission Creek Greenway Sunday afternoon and was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital.
Vehicles couldn’t get to the woman who was on the top of a hill near the mobile home park on Senger Road.
“We were able to land our helicopter really, really close to where she was even though she was in a hard to reach area,” Ben Mittlesteadt with B.C. Ambulance said.
Central Okanagan Search and Rescue was called to help the B.C. Ambulance paramedics get the woman, who was in critical condition, to the landing zone.
“There was a nice clear area here so figured call in the helicopter,” search and rescue team leader Duane Tresnich said.
