When you read or watch local news, do you consider the source? Is accuracy important?

The Internet changes the form of news. It’s posted and shared quickly, but often facts change as new information becomes available and yet that account may stand as an official record for years to come. We know readers often return to a story multiple times.

How do you know if that story was altered since your last visit? Why was it changed? Was the original information you took from it wrong?

At Infotel News, we recognize that news stories are no longer static dispatches. They must be flexible but still honest and remain accurate over time.

We want our readers to trust the information they find here. So we note all changes at the bottom of stories so readers know why and how it was changed from its original form. We note the date and time corrections or alterations are made.

It’s another one of those subtle, but we believe important, differences at Infotel News. Look under the News tab and you will see a Corrections sub-menu for full transparency.

And if you spot inaccuracies or suspect we—or our sources—are wrong, we always include contact information for our writers and editors on all original stories.
