Missing Kamloops woman found dead

A missing Kamloops woman was found dead less than three days after she was reported missing.

Police informed Rejeana Neveu's family on Wednesday night, Aug. 10, that her body was found, Neveu's daughter-in-law Jacqueline Erickson told iNFOnews.ca.

Neveu was reported missing from Kamloops on Aug. 8. While she was last seen downtown on Aug. 6, her last phone activity was last tracked in Lake Country the next day.

Both Kamloops RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are conducting investigations into what caused Neveu's death, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

"Criminality is not suspected in her death," the release reads.

Police did not say exactly where or when her body was found.

Erickson said it was "incredibly strange" for her mother-in-law to drive off without notice of where she was going. She said Neveu and her car were gone from her house on Saturday night, but her dog was still at home.

Neveu left without so much as a toothbrush after she was said to have taken a taxi home from the Hot Nite in the City car show, Erickson said.
