Sharp-eyed bystander helps Vernon RCMP track down stolen van

Three suspects are in custody thanks to a member of the public who spotted a stolen van driving erratically in Vernon yesterday.

Police were called to a report of suspicious activity in a parking lot of a business in the 4900 block of 27 Street in Vernon yesterday, Aug. 22, according to an RCMP media release.

The suspect took off in a stolen white Ford van as officers arrived.

A sharp-eyed bystander spotted the stolen van driving erratically north of the city and with the help of the RCMP helicopter, police arrested three suspect on Irish Creek Road.

Turns out the suspects also had a stolen ATV.

Justine Pihl, 32, of Vernon, Andrew Pouliot, 31, of Armstrong and Bryce Inglehart, 29, of Vernon are each charged with two counts of possession of stolen  property and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
