A man broke into a Penticton helicopter hangar today, Aug. 26, and ripped off almost $30,000 worth of equipment.
“The hangar door was pried open and CCTV cameras captured the suspect looking around, going through storage, and climbing into a helicopter that was housed in the facility,” a Penticton RCMP news release says.
“The suspect took a number of expensive pieces of equipment from the helicopter.”
The theft impacted the operation of the helicopter.
RCMP do not identify the business.
The suspect is described as being in his early to mid 40s, with a goatee, some facial stubble with curly, frizzy hair. He was shirtless and wearing black shorts and a blue baseball cap.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300, CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
