Keara Shepherd was enjoying a chat with a friend at a downtown Nakusp cafe earlier this month when she thought she recognized a man walking down the street.

A quick consultation with her friend and they agreed it was Kim Coates, a Canadian-American actor and star on the TV show Sons of Anarchy, where he plays ’Tig’ Trager.

The pair approached Coates, who turned out to be a pretty nice guy.

He told them he and his wife loved visiting Nakusp and came to the village often.

He then let them take a selfie with him, giving them solid proof of a celebrity encounter on the shores of the Arrow Lakes.
