Vernon RCMP find suspect vehicle associated with shooting

Vernon RCMP have tracked down a vehicle they believe was associated with a targeting shooting earlier this week.

Several shots were discharged into the home and vehicles on a property on Cunningham Road on Monday, Sept. 26.

The shooting took place at roughly 5:15 a.m. while there were five people in the home. No one was hurt. Investigators believe the shooting was targeted.

Following the shooting, police released a surveillance image of a vehicle seen fleeing the area at the time of the shooting. The older red two-door hatchback had been last seen travelling eastbound on Silver Star Road.

RCMP said in a media release issued today, Sept. 28, they have now picked up the suspect vehicle, although there is no word on whether any arrests have been made.

RCMP do not say where the suspect vehicle was found.

No other information was given in the release.
