Death no longer considered suspicious: RCMP

KELOWNA – RCMP say they still believe Jacqueline Abaku died suddenly in her Glenmore home last week but are no longer calling it suspicious.

RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan says the B.C. Coroners Service conducted an autopsy last week but could not confirm the reason for the change.

"They're classifying it now as a sudden death," he says. "They're just waiting for toxicology results to come back."

He says those tests could take two months to return results but RCMP continue to investigation with B.C. Coroners Service in the meantime.

A sudden death, according to Duncan, could mean anything from an accident to a medical issue.

Police found the body of Jacqueline Elizabeth Abaku, 31, in her home in Glenview Gardens around 3:45 p.m. on March 31. Police spent most of the day questioning neighbours, but have yet to release her cause of death.
