Shots fired and vehicle seized in Kamloops

Shots were fired in the Kamloops North Shore business corridor earlier this week.

Police responded to the 200-block of Tranquille Road at around 8:45 p.m., Thursday night, Oct. 6, and were able to identify a suspect and residence associated with the incident.

The next morning a vehicle was seized from another location. No injuries were reported.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, police believe the shooting was targeted toward a specific vehicle,” said spokesperson for Kamloops RCMP, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, in a press release issued by the RCMP.

“Evidence collection, including video canvassing, witness statements, vehicle seizure, and a search warrant execution, quickly followed the initial report and the investigation is progressing well.”

Anyone who witnessed, has video, dash camera footage, or any other information that may be helpful in this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference 2022-35842.
