Regional Science Fair underway at TRU

KAMLOOPS – This week more than 160 science-loving students from around the Kamloops-Thompson School District and the Cariboo region are competing for a spot in the national fair.

Students in Grades 4 to 12 will have their projects on display in the Thompson Rivers University gymnasium Thursday and Friday. They are competing for cash prizes, awards and a spot in the national fair in Fredericton, NB, next month.

Registration and set-up took place this morning and the judging of projects began at 9:30 a.m. today, April 9. Public viewing of the projects is open from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and again from 6 to 7 p.m. today.

A public viewing will also start the day Friday, from 8 to 9 a.m., and will be followed by a ‘science magic show.’ Certificates and award presentations start at 10 a.m.
