RCMP bust drug dealer during traffic stop in Kelowna

A woman pulled out a wad of cash and a jar of fentanyl when the Kelowna RCMP officer asked if she had anything else on her during a traffic stop last night.

The woman had just been placed under arrest because she left drug paraphernalia in plain view after getting pulled over, according to an RCMP press release.

The officer conducted the traffic stop because they recognized the woman, who was driving a Infiniti G35, and she didn't have a driver’s license.

The paraphernalia – glass pipes, brillo and dime bags – was in the centre console.

After the woman was arrested and surrendered the cash and drugs, she was placed in the back of the cop car while the officer searched her vehicle.

A total of $4,485 cash, 29.1 grams of meth and 8.4 grams of fentanyl were seized. The seizure happened around 11:23 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 12.

The woman has been released “pending further investigation,” RCMP say in the release, without mentioning what charges she may face.

“Kelowna RCMP are working tirelessly to disrupt the local drug trade, making our city safer for all to live and enjoy," Kelowna RCMP media relations officer Const Mike Della-Paolera said in the release.
