Man arrested in relation to Golden robberies after guns found in home

Golden RCMP officers seized firearms from a man’s home as part of an investigation into a sting of robberies.

The warrant was executed at 7 a.m. yesterday morning, Oct. 28 at a residence on Moberly School Road, according to a release from the Golden RCMP.

Local officers were assisted by members of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services.

The alleged robberies took place in Golden on Oct. 26.

During yesterday’s search, a hunting rifle, two replica firearms, a crossbow and ammo were seized by police.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and is being held in custody. He’s facing charges of robbery, theft and assault, according to the RCMP.

“With our partners, we were able to seize potentially deadly weapons and firearms, and intervene to prevent acts of violence from impacting the Golden community,” lead investigator Const. Robyn Diddams said, in the release.
