iN VIDEO: Multiple fights reported at Kelowna Steve-O comedy show

Multiple people could be seen punching each other amid yelling at a Steve-O comedy performance in Kelowna last night.

A video of one of the incidents, shared around social media by Misses K, has been seen more than 1,000 times on YouTube.

Kelowna resident Meara Davison, who attended the 9 p.m. show at the Kelowna Community Theatre, said she saw multiple fights last night.

The first incident involved two women who were arguing on the far left side of the theatre before one slapped the other, she said. “It just broke out into a full on fight… and people surrounding them were backing up. This one girl like grabbed the other’s hair and was pounding her face.”

A heckler also started a fight with three security guards, she said. “Steve-O actually walked off the stage.”

“It was insane.”

As part of Johnny Knoxville’s team of pranksters, Steve-O rose to fame in the early 2000s by performing stunts like snorting wasabi and crossing a tightrope over a pool of alligators, among many others.

Steve-O performed Oct. 28 in Kelowna with two shows. 

Davison said the security guards handled both incidents well and were quick to respond.

“It was very immature and puts a bad rap on people in Kelowna,” she said.

According to Tom Wilson, communications manager with the city, any of the patrons involved were escorted out of the show by security.

"The City and the Kelowna Community Theatre are upset by the aggressive behaviour of the audience members, especially at our Community Theatre. We believe this to an isolated incident and is not reflective of our Theatre audiences,” he said, via email.
