Suspect facing charges after downtown Kamloops robbery
Kamloops RCMP officers only needed minutes to capture a possibly armed robber during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The police were called to a store in the 600 block of Seymour Street around 5:20 a.m. on Nov. 20, according to an RCMP media release.
A man had produced what appeared to be a firearm after staff confronted him for allegedly stealing. RCMP do not identify the business.
“Police obtained a suspect description and relayed it to officers on patrol,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “A suspect was located near Battle Street and 3 Avenue within minutes of police attendance and was quickly arrested without incident.”
The accused is 26-year-old Noel Albert Larkin from Kamloops. He’s been charged with one count of robbery. He was in court yesterday and will be held in custody until his next court date. Nov. 28.
Cpl. Evelyn said in an emailed statement she can't share whether or not Larkin was in possession of a firearm when he was arrested as the matter is before the courts.
