Fraud victim unknowingly buys stolen Kamloops trailer
A trailer was returned to its rightful owner after a buyer found out it had been stolen when having the insurance transferred.
The buyer arranged the purchase online, but found it was difficult to get it insured on Dec. 18 because the VIN was barely legible, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.
Police later found the trailer was stolen from Lupin Drive between Dec. 3 and 5, so it was returned to its owner, according to the news release.
Unfortunately, the new buyer is out a trailer, falling victim to fraud.
Police didn't describe the type of trailer nor say how much the buyer paid for it.
