RCMP following lead on fence-cutting suspect in Cherry Creek

KAMLOOPS – RCMP officers are following a report of a female suspect after a series of suspicious fence-cutting incidents.

Staff Sgt. Doug Aird with the rural RCMP detachment says around 10:19 p.m. Monday night, a Cherry Creek resident and a neighbour chased a female lurking on their property. The woman, believed to be the same one who cut fences or let out horses in previous instances, drove a silver Subaru car.

"Police are continuing to investigate this wilful damage which is also endangering the horses who have been freed twice after fences were cut," Aird said in a release.

Investigators ask Cherry Creek residents to keep an eye out for the suspicious vehicle and record its license plate. Aird advises not to approach the female. Any one with information on the incidents is asked to call the detachment at 250-314-1800. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 250-828-3215.
