Kelowna Flightcraft rebrands with new name
KELOWNA – Kelowna Flightcraft is getting a facelift with a new name meant to encompass the wide variety of services the company offers.
The new name — KF Aerospace — along with the new logo and look better encompass the breadth of services the company offers, including air cargo operations, aircraft leasing, maintenance and engineering and defence services, according to President Tracy Medve.
“We felt that as we celebrate our past we should also take the time to look to the future,” she says. “The reality is that the services we offer customers have significantly evolved over the past 45 years. It was time our brand changed to reflect that.”
Headquartered in Kelowna, KF Aerospace is privately owned and the city’s largest private sector employer. According to a press release sent Tuesday, April 14, it has an estimated economic impact of $50 million in direct and indirect benefits to the region.
With around 600 Kelowna-based employees, the company provides air cargo operations, aircraft leasing services, heavy maintenance and modifications.
KF Aerospace also trains 80 per cent of Canada’s Royal Canadian Air Force pilots in multi-engine and rotary wing and oversees all aspects of training and facilities management at a location in Portage la Prairie, Man.
“Our abilities to adapt quickly, take on complex challenges, and deliver high quality work every single time, are the reasons we have developed so many long-standing customer relationships,” CEO Barry Lapointe says.
The company was founded by Barry Lapointe and Jim Rogers in 1970 and began providing maintenance services to aircraft in western Canada. It now provides a wide range of aviation services to corporate, commercial and military customers worldwide.
