REVELSTOKE – A 55-year-old Revelstoke man air-lifted to Royal Inland Hospital after he was seriously injured during an "interaction" with another man on Friday morning has died.
Dean Pratico, of Revelstoke, passed away late last night in hospital, RCMP Const. Kris Clark says.
At around 11:15 a.m. paramedics were sent to a report of an injured man on 9 Street across from Queen Elizabeth Park in Revelstoke.
RCMP say two men, 55 and 35, were involved in an “interaction” in the school zone.
The older man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke.
He was later transferred to Kamloops hospital by B.C. Air Ambulance where he remains in critical condition.
“The exact circumstances surrounding how the injuries to the man occurred are the subject of the police investigation.” Const. Kris Clark said in a media release.
Further details about the cause of death or circumstances leading to the "interaction" haven't been released by RCMP. The man’s name isn’t being released until next of kin have been notified.
The investigation continues.
