KAMLOOPS – Seven people who have made a difference in our world will be honoured by Thompson Rivers University this spring with honorary doctorates.
Former premier Gordon Campbell and Honorable Justice Lance Finch both played a key role in the founding of the university law school and with the inaugural convocation this June for the TRU Faculty of Law both men will be handed an honorary degree
Also being lauded are humanitarian and author Craig Kielburger, Dr. Samantha Nutt for her fight to end the cycle of violence, Dr. Evan Adams for his role in Aboriginal health, theatre director Kim Collier and local businessman Ron Fawcett.
An honourary degree is TRU’s highest form of recognition and is awarded for demonstrated excellence in the fields of public affairs, the sciences, arts, humanities, business and philanthropy. The receipients will receive their degrees during the Spring Convocation Ceremonies June 11-14.
