Garage fire likely accidental

WEST KELOWNA – Flames were shooting out of the roof of a garage when crews arrived Saturday night.

West Kelowna firefighters quickly knocked down the fire in the detached garage at a home in the 600-block of Keefe Road about 9:15 p.m.

They also made sure the fire didn’t spread to the house or a nearby cedar hedge.

No one was hurt.

The cause is under investigation, but in a media release, assistant fire chief Chad Gartrell says it’s believed to be accidental.
