Clearwater has a new millionaire

KAMLOOPS – A grandmother of 7 has won a share of a $7 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

Brenda Schley, 57, bought a ticket in the May 3 draw at the Pharmasave on Friday in Clearwater and it turned out to be worth $1.75 million.

“I saw the numbers and I knew I had won. I knew instantly. I was so shocked I had to triple check to make sure I was seeing the numbers right. Then I had my family check to confirm.”

Schley says she hasn’t slept in 2 days.

“I remember yelling, ‘I won, I won, I won – my ship came in.’”

She picked up her cheque Monday at the B.C. Lottery Corporation office in Kamloops.

The retiree says she’ll take her time to decide what her plans are for the money.
