UPDATE: Orchard Park Mall evacuated due to suspicious package

KELOWNA – Orchard Park Mall was evacuated at around 2 p.m. today, April 15, because of what police say is "a suspicious package" and the mall will be closed for the remainder of the day.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Joe Duncan says people should stay away from the mall and the surrounding area. The Explosive Disposal Unit has completed a sweep of the mall but an RCMP release at 9:40 p.m. says the unit is doing a second sweep. More information will be released tomorrow.
