UPDATE: Power was restored to all residents surrounding Star Road at 4:36 p.m. May 12, according to B.C. Hydro.
VERNON – B.C. Hydro continues to work on a power outage caused by a vehicle accident on Star Road this morning.
The outage affected 2373 homes in the north east section of Vernon. While power has been restored to many homes, 811 households are still without as B.C. Hydro works to repair the damage to the pole, apparently sheared off when a vehicle crashed at about 11:30 a.m.
There is no word yet about injuries. B.C. Hydro estimates the power will be on again by about 3 p.m.
