RCMP looking for this man following attack on young woman

KELOWNA – RCMP have released a sketch of the suspect wanted in connection with the attack of a young woman in Kelowna in February.

The 21-year-old woman was assaulted on Harvey Avenue near Burtch Road around 5:12 a.m., Feb. 7., Cpl. Joe Duncan says in a media release.

Duncan says she was walking eastbound on Harvey Avenue when a man with a nylon over his face approached her from behind, placed his arm around her neck and lifted her off her feet.

“The young woman fought and screamed, which ultimately resulted in the man releasing her and fleeing the scene on foot on Chandler Street,” Duncan says.

The victim was hurt, but not bad enough to need medical attention.

Police describe the suspect as Caucasian, between 25 and 30 years old, 5’10” to 6’ tall and 240 lbs. He was clean-shaven with short, sandy hair. The suspect was wearing a nylon over his face, a black hat, dark clothes and jeans.
