Enraged Sicamous father’s video of public urination brawl leads to police investigation
SICAMOUS – A video making the rounds on Facebook has people downright pissed.
It all started when a group of men were reportedly relieving themselves on Main Street in Sicamous, across the road from a high school. Brent Graf, the man who shot the video, says he was picking up his daughters at the time.
A student stepped up to confront the men, Graf says, which led to a physical altercation. He says one man started beating on the student.
Graf posted the video online with the hope 'it will make it back to their families so they can see what kind of men… they are.'
The video shows Alberta license plates on the men’s vehicles and had been shared over 3,500 times as of the early afternoon of April 22.
Sicamous RCMP are investigating the incident and Sgt. Scott West says officers are reviewing Graf’s video.
“Our office will be following up with the registered owners of these vehicles in an attempt to determine who the occupants were,” West said in a statement. “Once all the facts are in, a decision on charges will be made.”
No one involved suffered any major injuries, West said. He added the public is always urged to obtain information that can be provided to police, but said when a verbal confrontation is escalating, it’s best to withdraw and call the RCMP, or in some cases 'just to mediate.'
**The video below includes some coarse language. Viewer discretion is advised.
Please share this video…… This afternoon when I was picking up my daughters from school these guys pulled up and pissed in front of the school. A brave student confronted them and the guy in the in the blue jacket jumped out and started beating on the kidin the white shirt. This is where my video starts……I hope if it is shared enough it will make it back to their families so they can see what kind of men(pigs) they are…….and yes the shell gas station is across the street

and you don’t think that people from BC do stupid shit when they come to Alberta, there was an incident recently that campers from BC left a bunch of garbage at their campsite and 2 smoldering fires, that is just stupid ignorance on their part and not because they had BC plates… and how don’t you know that those guys aren’t originally from BC and jumped on the bandwagon of job opportunities in Alberta. People that live along the BC border sure don’t have a problem taking advantage on not having to pay PST in Alberta so are always shopping here which I say, why not, I would too! why do people judge a whole province of people on actions of others….typical Albertan attitudes…. pffftmaybe I should say typical BC attitude that makes a person feel unwelcome, because there have been some establishments that definitely don’t make you feel like they want you there for sure, but then I would be, like you, judging a whole province on a few people’s actions.

I would like to say the majority of Albertans I have met here think they own BC as their own personal playground.Love the ones who treat Sicamous with respect but I wouldn’t call them the majority.

My take is that these fine folks that drive the economy, likely after a month straight on the rigs are letting off a little steam. These folks should be respected as those that produce and pay for everything not abused by the self righteous parasites.

Some of the Comment I have seen on this post are founded and your views are considered, we all have a voice. This is an event that took place. Here is a little background of the area it happened in, you all know it happened in Sicamous, BC, location the old True Value Hardware location, right across the highway they just turned off is a shell gas station with open public washrooms, the gentlemen that made the conscious choice to stop at the location they did, and proceed to urinate in front of a public school with no regard for the students or the community. This is not an isolated incident, this type of thing has been happening for years in Sicamous, Mostly initiated by Tourists from other provinces or countries. I know this because I was a longtime resident of 25 years in Sicamous, and these occurrences played a huge influence in my decision to leave the area with my family. This community is small and the RCMP do not have the resources or the manpower to monitor all that happen in the community. So here is my response to some of the comments that have been made;. Setting a bad Example from the guy recording the video with the use of bad language; Hmmm, maybe it should have went more like this, Gentlemen, please place your privates back into your pants, thank you, as for the teenager you have just smacked, everything is all good, but can you please stay here while I call the RCMP, can we shake hands and exchange E-mails, I would like to be able to send you a selfy every once in a while (Pansy). Not, the truth is be just as aggressive as they are without provoking anything further, use your voice to let them know you are not happy with the actions. How do you think the RCMP conducts Crowd control? Yes showing our youth to stand up for themselves is a life lesson all should learn, using your voice calls attention to the situation. The one youth used his voice and got hit by one or two of the men. The adult acted correctly by aggravating the potential attackers and gaining their attention. Gaining intel on how to identify the culprits was a good choice he made and was level headed enough to do so. If you think you should stand by and do nothing you have lived a sheltered life and need to wake up to the real world. A lot of incidents are solved because someone was willing to step in and take a stand, and the more that take a stand the less they will have to. The DAD was correct to step in. WE as Canadian citizens have the right to voice our opinion, and confront persons that exhibit unlawful behavior with equal force as that imposed on us.Now saying that if it was females’ things would have been different if it was females doing the peeing in public and in front of a school. I am not sure of the answer but it would have most likely ended up the same. But let us try it; the next time I am in Calgary I will arrange for a few ladies to head down to a high school and start to urinate adjacent to the main entrance, I bet you within minutes there would be a riot with multiple squad cars involved in a matter of minutes. Mr. David Harris, yep I am directing this directly to you. I do not think that the teens are angles that never do anything wrong, that was never a consideration, but it does seem like you have a personal involvement in what transpired. It sounds like to me that these Albertans were heading to your home or you know them in some form. It is just like a guilty party to try to lay blame on others. I say,Good for the Teens for standing up to the drunk adults,Good for the voice and video of the angered parent,No, Not all Albertans are bad the majority of them are great, just like here in BC or the other Columbia, Yes Charges should be laid, And yes it was a good thing that it was not me with the camera, we would have had loads of fun.

I am not so sure that using bad language is setting a good example..it would anger me as well what the other guys did…but it would of been better had the person filming it , not used swear words…in my opinion anyway.
-
No he said he would cuff him and cuff him like he had never being cuffed before, the guy with the cam was just being an ass trying to escalate things it was that important run down the street and get the cops, talk about pedestrian road rage.
-
Don’t paint all Albertans with the same brush there are as many if not more A holes here in BC as well. It’s just how the times are, just ask everyone.
-
If anyone wants to come to our province they need to respect it and the people who live here just as they expect us to when we go to theirs.I hope these idiots are found and charged. It’s way past time that people learned how to conduct themselves.
-
Please do not think or trash all Albertans, because of two idiots, we live in Sicamous 6 mnths of the year, have done for 25yrs, So we have seen bad things all around,….
-
Can’t they find a public outhouse?
-
Well, peeingin full view of a high school is rude. I guess indecent exposure or so. But, by not calling police to deal with it, the confronter exposes himself ( pardon the pun ) to possible danger. I would think the thing to do would be call police & get licence plates. Quietly. From a safe, dry distance.
-
No, he is setting a good example of how to stand up to bullies.
-
Karen Vekeman White he “threatened” to defend himself.

what toilets r for.

Those are clearly not kids, they are teenagers and I guarantee you when out on weekends those kids do probably worse than pissing in public. We waste too much time worrying about what others are doing, the guy recording the video was being an ass and he was lucky he didn’t get his ass kicked. If you’re tying to set an example Mr. Video guy you shouldn’t have been using such shit language, maybe next time you wont be so lucky, let people do what they do and worry about your own shit.

Typical Albertan attitudes. They come to BC acting as they own the world. It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter. I have witnessed dicks like these mis-treating fast food minimum wage workers. One boating god claimed that they should be catered to since they support their wages. News flash all you terrorist (tourists) your a guest in the place you visit whether it is a province, state, or country…….. so show you have respect or in the very least pretend you have it.As for David Harris’s comment…. regardless if the teens are angels or not, there are just some things you don’t do…… Exposing yourself next to a school is one of them.
-
Don’t know what a “perfect angle” is but they did at least realize that these upstanding gentlemen were doing something that would make their families cringe. Losers!
-
the men urinating in public (if they were,as the one guy denied it) are in the wrong, but the guy taking the video is using some raunchy language and bullying and leaving another bad example , in front of the school so they both need to grow up…wonder what would happen if females decided to pee in public on the streets?
-
Good grief……………
-
The guy taking the video should be punched out…………if he came on to me like that shit…………….the cops should be talking with him about his behavior….horrid.
-
leave your b s in alberta.
-
Also the mouth on said reporter with is f— this and f— that, listen to him, sounds to me like he trying to make things worse than they already are.
-
No sign of pee but the guy taking the video did threaten the one guy on film he was going to cuff him, betcha these teens never drink on a weekend or race there cars around, I bet they are perfect little angles.
