SUV smashed into Lakeview Market in Kelowna

KELOWNA – The driver of an SUV that ended up crashing into a Kelowna market this morning is facing charges.

RCMP were called to the crash at the Lakeview Market on Pandosy Street around 10:42 a.m., April 23.

According to an RCMP media release, a man ran the red light at Cedar Avenue and Pandosy Street and hit a taxi waiting at the light with his Ford Explorer. The SUV kept going and then drove into the window of the market.

The suspect backed out and took off, police say. Officers caught up with him in McCulloch Road area and arrested him.

A 30-year-old man is facing several charges under both the Criminal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act.
