Attic fire damages Kamloops house
KAMLOOPS – Fire crews still are extinguishing hot spots Thursday morning after a house in Barnhartvale caught fire around 1 a.m.
Capt. Dave Ferguson says the fire, which began early this morning, April 30, was in the attic of the house and then spread to a semi-attached garage. Two residents were home at the time but made it out safely.
The fire destroyed the roofs of both buildings and fire damage is visible along the front of the house as well. The house at 785 Uplands Crt. is no longer liveable because of smoke and water damage, according to Ferguson.
He says investigators will be on scene this morning to determine the cause of the fire.
