VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Whitecaps have announced that Brett Levis underwent successful surgery on his right knee.

The 23-year-old defender/midfielder had the procedure done Tuesday morning to repair an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. Levis suffered the injury in Vancouver’s regular season finale, his MLS debut, on Oct. 23.

“We’re happy to hear the surgery went well and fully anticipate Brett will be back training with the group at the start of summer,” said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson.

The Saskatoon native signed an MLS contract on Aug. 23 and made five official first-team appearances this year.

In addition to his one regular season appearance, Levis started in three of his four CONCACAF Champions League games, helping Vancouver advance to the quarter-finals as the top seed with a 4-0-0 record.
