RCMP near Kamloops make arrest after domestic assault, chase

KAMLOOPS – Police say they arrested one man after witnessing him assaulting a woman near the boat launch at Tobiano.

Cpl. John Erdinger of Kamloops rural RCMP says they were called out just before 9 p.m. for the domestic disturbance. The man later fled in a vehicle and police picked it up on Highway 1. Instead of stopping, he fled but not before being spotted entering the Inks Lake area off Highway 5.

Police set up containment in the Lac Le Jeune area, called in the Air 4 RCMP helicopter and a Police Service dog, to find and arrest the man, who is known to police. He faces several charges while police continue their investigation.
