UPDATE: Kal Park wildfire under control

COLDSTREAM – Firefighters from B.C. Wildfire already have a fire in Kalamalka Provincial Park under control after reports of a smoke plume around Juniper Bay earlier this afternoon.

Fire information officer Kelsey Winter says Coldstream Fire Department crews are on the scene along with an initial attack crew from B.C. Wildfire.

Winter says the rank one, low risk fire is 20-by-30 metres in size.

Air tankers, a helicopter were initially sent to the fire but were turned around. 

"We just got there but it won't take long. Give it an hour and (the fire will) probably be out," Winter says. 

Cause of the July 24 fire is still under investigation, although it's suspected to be human-caused.
