KELOWNA – The 7th annual festival celebrating locally grown food is happening in Kelowna this weekend.
Okanagan Feast of Fields is one of three chapters started by FarmFolk CityFolk, a Vancouver organization dedicated to celebrating sustainable, local foods.
Feast of Fields, which also takes place in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island, is a four-hour wandering gourmet harvest festival, which highlights the connection between farmers and chefs. With a wine glass in hand, guests visit with farmers and top local chefs as they sample gourmet treasures grown and prepared right here in the Okanagan.
There will be live music as well as tasting tents featuring cuisine from some of the Okanagan’s top restaurants, fishers, ranchers, vintners, brewers and distillers.
Each year Feast of Fields is held at a different farm. Last year Okanagan Lavender and Herb Farm hosted the event, and this year it will take place at Meadow Vista Artisan Farm Winery on Sunday, Aug. 16, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Eventbrite.
