ELECTION 2015: Prime Minister’s Penticton campaign stop confirmed

PENTICTON – Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s campaign machine rolls into Penticton today.

The Conservative leader will be holding two photo opportunities for the media, Sept. 13, at unconfirmed locations.

At 6:15 p.m., Harper will be joined by South Okanagan-West Kootenay Conservative candidate Marshall Neufeld at Brutus Truck Bodies at 682 Okanagan Ave. East to “deliver remarks,” according to a media release.

Conservative media relations advisor Meagan Murdoch says in an email the Prime Minister will not be taking questions from the media.

Harper’s campaign swing through the Thompson-Okanagan includes a stop tomorrow, Sept. 14, in Kamloops. While the visit has been confirmed, the time and place won’t be released until 24 hours before the event.

NDP leader Tom Mulcair campaigned in the region two weeks ago, making stops in Penticton, Vernon and Kamloops.

There has been no word from the Liberal Party if leader Justin Trudeau will be paying the southern Interior a visit before Election Day on Oct. 19.
