Two people facing charges following Kelowna drug bust

KELOWNA – Two people are facing a myriad of charges after officers executed a search warrant in Kelowna last week.

When they arrived at the residence in the 1200 block of Clifton Road on Nov. 18, officers found a loaded sawed-off shotgun, a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle previously stolen from a vehicle, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, $2,500 in cash, identification stolen from seven people and identification for another 10 individuals.

Five people were arrested but three were released without charges, Cpl. Joe Duncan says in a media release.

A 29-year-old Kelowna man is facing charges of unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. A 34-year-old Kelowna man is facing the same charges, as well as a potentially "numerous" other charges, Duncan says.

The Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Unit was aided by the Southeast District Emergency Response Team in executing the search warrant.
