Ronald Weinberg won’t testify at sentencing arguments in fraud case
MONTREAL – Ronald Weinberg’s lawyer says the co-founder of the Cinar animation company will not take the stand at his sentencing arguments.
Weinberg was found guilty last week of various charges related to a $120-million fraud case involving Cinar.
Lawyer Annie Emond said today Weinberg will not testify.
A jury convicted Weinberg, along with John Xanthoudakis and Lino Matteo, of most of the charges they faced.
Weinberg’s son, Eric, testified Monday that his father was a good man who always put others first.
The sentencing arguments are expected to last all week.
Weinberg, Matteo and Xanthoudakis face up to 10 years in prison.
