Wedding ring returned to owner, 37 years after he lost it

MADRID – Agustin Aliaga’s marriage to his wife Juani Sanchez has lasted 37 years, even though he lost his wedding ring just months after they tied the knot.

But now, the ring has been found.

Diver Jessy Nisos says she found a gold wedding ring while scuba diving last month off Benidorm in Spain. She posted a photo of it on Facebook and gave the wedding date inscribed on it: Feb. 17, 1979.

She asked people to share the post, noting that “it got lost a long, long time ago because it was covered with sediment.”

More than 80,000 people shared the post, with word finally reaching Aliaga and Sanchez in the northeastern city of Zaragoza.

Sanchez says she called Nisos and both of them burst into tears.
