KAMLOOPS – Two men accused of assaulting an on-duty officer will stand trial in Kamloops Supreme Court this fall.

Jerry Lee Lamar and Leon Francis Leclerc are both charged with aggravated assault of a peace officer on July 5, 2014.

The pair have elected to be tried by jury and trial is set for the week of Oct. 24 of this year.

A voir dire hearing is scheduled for Sept. 11 to determine what evidence will be admissible during the trial.

Crown prosecutors intend to enter into evidence a dash cam video which recorded the event.
