KELOWNA – A hike was rescued from a cliff ledge in the Postill Lake Road area east of Kelowna this afternoon.
Firefighters from the Ellison Fire Department and the Kelowna Fire Department were called at about 1:20 p.m., April 2, to rescue a man who was stuck on a ledge of a 30-foot high cliff, according to a media release.
The man was able to call for help with his cell phone. He said he was OK but was stuck on the ledge.
Kelowna’s High Angle Rescue team lowered a firefighter to victim, who was then pulled up to safety.
Platoon Capt. Kelly Stephens says the man was cold and tired, but otherwise unhurt.
