VERNON – A man driving erratically in a stolen vehicle over the weekend in Vernon didn’t get far.
Around 1 p.m. Sunday, July 3, police started getting multiple complaints about an erratic driver, Const. KP Sidhu says.
Mounties headed to the area and determined the vehicle had been stolen.
When officers located the vehicle, a black SUV, in the Okanagan Landing area, it had been abandoned.
“After some time, the male occupant was located in a residence and arrested for possession of stolen property,” Sidhu says.
The suspect was located with the help of eye witness reports and the police dog team, Sidhu says.
He adds there was no police pursuit of the vehicle during the incident.
