Three in hospital after Kamloops crash

A highway corridor in Kamloops was closed for hours after a two-vehicle collision just after midnight.

Police were called to the scene around 12:30 a.m. today, June 5, for a collision between a semi truck and a sedan, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

"Three people have been taken to hospital, one of whom has suffered significant injuries," Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in a news release.

Kamloops RCMP closed the Trans-Canada Highway and Highland Road intersection in Valleyview to investigate the collision, which reopened around 7:30 a.m., according to DriveBC.

Police didn't say what might have led to the collision, nor which vehicle each of the three injured people were in.

"The cause of the collision and contributing factors remain under investigation," Shoihet said.
