
Warm start to 2024 in Kamloops and the Okanagan
Warm winter weather is continuing well into the New Year in Kamloops and the Okanagan with daytime high temperatures above freezing into the weekend.
Normally, daytime highs in Kamloops for this time of year average -1.3 Celsius with overnight lows down to -7.7 C.
Daytime highs are forecast for 3 C all week in Kamloops, according to Environment Canada’s online forecast, dropping to –1 C on the weekend.
For Penticton, daytime highs are expected to reach 5 C today, Jan. 2, and 6 C on Wednesday before slowly dropping by the weekend.
Kelowna and Vernon are forecast to reach 1 C today, rising to 3 C Thursday before dropping to 0 C on the weekend.
Overnight lows are at or below freezing during the week, dropping down to -6 C overnight Sunday.
There is a 30-60% chance of flurries or snow throughout much of the week and into the weekend.
