KAMLOOPS – The weekly farmers' market has taken over the entire 400 block of Victoria Street and lots of produce, crafts and entertainment are pouring into the street as dozens of people shop during the lunch hour today.
The farmers' market is the kickoff to the annual downtown event which takes place in conjunction with a massive sidewalk sale throughout the downtown area. A carnival will close down a block of the street Friday and Saturday will also see a closure of yet another block of Victoria Street as the sales and buskers fill the street. Thursday local restaurants are taking part in Taste of the Town, where patrons can enjoy samples at two dozen different restaurants.
Street entertainers and musicians will be on hand every day through Saturday with buskers from all backgrounds competing on Saturday for the title of ultimate Kamloops busker.
