SPALLUMCHEEN – The Township of Spallumcheen is currently considering the implementation of Road Development Cost Charges. The Township does not currently have a DCC program in place and the proposed DCCs would be used to help fund road upgrade projects in the municipality.
During their regular meeting on Sept. 12, 2016 Council voted to hold a public open house to present the proposed Road Development Cost Charges (DCCs). The public will have an opportunity to engage municipal staff and consultants on this issue during the upcoming public open house set for Oct. 24, 2016. The Township is inviting interested residents, property owners and stakeholders to review the proposed DCC program and provide feedback before the required Bylaw is presented to Council for consideration.

The proposed Road DCC Bylaw will apply to all new development in the Township of Spallumcheen and to every person who obtains:
The Township’s objective for the Road DCC program is to ensure each class of development contributes its fair share, of the portion of the costs being contributed by development, to financially assist the Township in funding road upgrades required due to the impacts of new growth.
