MONTREAL – Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B) says China Express Airlines has placed a firm order for 10 additional CRJ900 regional jets, one of two customer announcements Thursday by the Montreal-based company.
The CRJ900 passenger jets ordered by China Express have a combined list price of about US$462.6 million, but the actual amount paid wasn’t disclosed.
The Chinese airline has already taken delivery of 20 Bombardier CRJ900s.
Bombardier recently received certification for its first CSeries jet, a newer and larger generation of commercial jets that has been in the works for more than a decade.
The company also announced Thursday that a Japanese customer has taken delivery of the first ever Bombardier Q400 turboprop plane that has been adapted to carry cargo as well as passengers.
Ryukyu Air Commuter Co., Ltd (RAC) of Okinawa, part of the Japan Airlines group, has ordered five of the cargo combi Q400s, which can carry up to 50 passengers plus up to four tonnes of cargo.
