Big price tag for aquatic centre upgrades
West Kelowna city council is going to spend almost half-a-million dollars on upgrades to the Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre.
The district will be building a new front entrance, making landscaping improvements and doing seismic upgrades. The landscaping improvements include a new patio and trellis.
The price tag for the renovation is $414,444. The money is coming from the district’s capital reserves.
Construction will start soon and should be finished in October.
The aquatic centre turns 25 years old this fall. A celebration will be held soon after the upgrades are finished.
