Anyone wanting to spice up their lunch hour with interesting presentations and discussions on a variety of heritage and culture topics are encouraged to come to the Penticton museum auditorium and enjoy some great brain food.

Gary McDougall, Ghost towns of the Similkameen

Presentations are in the Museum Auditorium (785 Main St) and include coffee, tea and confections.

Admission is by donation. Suggested donation is $2 for adults, $1 for children

History from the gold country, Coalmont, Blakeburn, Hedley, from boom to bust. A chance discovery of gold in 1885 at Granite Creek started a rush of miners to the area. Soon this small town had earned the title of the third largest community in British Columbia.

Gary McDougall is a local historian, published photographer, author, and a historical researcher. He has traveled in the BC interior searching for historical locations and lost ghost towns, documenting many by video and still camera.
