KELOWNA – A Kelowna man is cooling his heels in the slammer after getting nabbed by the police.
A 27-year-old man is facing robbery charges following a hold-up at the Bank of Montreal on Harvey Avenue this morning.
A man walked into the bank and told a teller he had a weapon. He passed her note asking for money. No one saw a weapon and no one was hurt.
The suspect took off on foot with the cash. Police aren't saying how much was taken.
He was seen heading toward the Capri Centre Mall. Minutes later the police spotted a man matching the suspect’s description at the corner of Burtch and Springfield Roads. He was arrested.
No charges have been laid yet.
The suspect will remain behind bars until his court appearance tomorrow.
