Capstone Mining posts 1st-quarter loss of $12.8 million

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Capstone Mining Corp. (CSFFF) on Tuesday reported a loss of $12.8 million in its first quarter.

The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.

The base metals mining company posted revenue of $126.2 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company’s shares hit 55 cents. A year ago, they were trading at $1.23.
